Studies have shown that there are many more workers who want to join a union than actually do (more). At most, unions tend to reach about half of those who would join. The Younionize service aims to reach as many of the others as possible, and to negotiate obstacles to joining on their behalf.

Although workers have been listing themselves, we still need unions to put forward a contact person for us to refer to. These people will be sent a password so that they can access our listings (through the "union login" link above), and from then on it's just a matter of keeping an eye on things. Strangely, this part of the exercise has proved the most difficult, and has been delaying the full launch of the service.
