Thinking about joining a union? There are lots of good reasons to do so: practical, economic, political, social... But there are also lots of obstacles. Maybe you don't know which union to join. Maybe there's more than one choice. Maybe your job(s) don't fall into any obvious union classification. Or maybe you're worried that somebody will misinterpret your motives. Then again, perhaps you simply haven't been asked. This service aims to get around all these obstacles. As part of the service we will also offer you the option of free international networking with others in the same situation as yourself (through the New Unionism network). It's all free, and the form you use is secure and confidential.
Why Younionize? Trade unions do far more than just converting your membership fees into pay rises. Work takes up about a third of your life; you (and your colleagues) have every right to spend that time with dignity. You also deserve a voice in how things are run. By joining a union you are helping to develop and strengthen such a voice. Unions want to make work better: to improve workplace culture; to guard against poor decisions; and to build better relationships. They also have a wider social agenda, which is continually reviewed and developed by members. But in order to achieve anything they need you as much as you need them.

When you fill out the form it will trigger a message to us, and we'll make certain details available to unions by way of a passworded web page. When the agreed union reps contact us, we'll send them your name and contact details. At no other stage will these details be made available. Furthermore, we will only deal with recognised union representatives.

The Younionize project is being developed and run on a voluntary basis by members of the New Unionism network. More details of the project, including a budget, are available here. We'd be very glad of any support you or your union can offer - a solidarity donation can be made by way of the button to the right. Enquiries can be sent to younionize@newunionism.net
